The high beams operate at half the illumination via the daytime light control unit when ever the engine is running. When the light switch is moved into the second position and with the dimmer switch in the low position, ground and power is supplied to the low beams, powering them on at full power...thus providing full/normal power to the ballast...I think, lol. If this is correct, I would think the DTRL control unit only controlling/supplying power to and through the high beams circuit wouldn't have any negative impact on the Xenon ballasts as they seem to be only powered when the switch is turned on in the second position. ehhh, its getting late and know my head is spinning.
